ICSSI’s activities are organized through several working groups and collaborative spaces that bring together activists, researchers, artists, and members of civil society interested in social justice, democracy, and civic engagement in Iraq. These groups create spaces for exchange, collaboration, and collective reflection, and they are open to people who would like to contribute.

ICSSI currently coordinates three main working groups:

The Climate Justice group focuses on environmental issues through a social justice perspective. It brings together activists and contributors interested in discussing climate challenges, raising awareness, and supporting initiatives related to climate justice and sustainability.

In addition to these working groups, ICSSI also hosts a Youth Climate Team, which creates a space for young people interested in climate justice to collaborate, exchange ideas, and develop initiatives.

ICSSI also participates in the MASAHA working group, a collaborative space that reflects on the shrinking civic space in Iraq and supports dialogue among civil society actors.

Alongside these more structured groups, ICSSI facilitates more informal collaborative spaces, including:

Antennas
A network of contributors who help us stay connected with what is happening across Iraq, sharing updates on social movements, civic initiatives, and developments within civil society.

Communication Team
A collaborative space for people interested in contributing to ICSSI’s outreach, including website content, communication materials, and storytelling.
