Extended Iraqi Social Forum – Participation Form

Participate in the Extended Iraqi Social Forum from everywhere in the world!

Signal your interest and register your event through the following form as soon as possible, so the Iraqi volunteers of the “ISF Extension Team” can contact you, build a solidarity link with Iraqi civil society organizations, and an internet connection with them.

Possibilities for taking part in the Extended Iraqi Social Forum:

A) Organize a solidarity activity in your city to spread awareness on the Iraqi situation and the ISF. You can do this before, during or after the forum. We strongly advise you to arrange internet connection in the activity and include in the event a Skype-call moment with an Iraqi from an organization participating in the ISF. The support team will help you to contact an Iraqi activist involved in similar activities as your organization.

B) Tele-exchange through video-conference between your group and a group at the ISF. This activity should take place during the forum (26-28 September 2013). Some rooms at the ISF should be equipped with internet connection, microphones, webcams and video-projectors allowing a video-exchange between a group in Baghdad and your group, wherever you are. The support team will help you to get in contact with another group in Baghdad who is interested in exchanging with you, or send you proposals for exchage from Iraqi groups.

C) Tele-participation in an activity held in Baghdad within the ISF. Some activities during the forum (26-28 September 2013) will be visible by internet streaming, if the quality of connection allows it, with a side-chat where all those watching can interact by writing. You could watch these activities with your friends, project them in a public space, and even try to make an intervention through Skype in an event in Baghdad. Please consider that connection in Baghdad is precarious hence tele-participation is not guaranteed, and most likely there will be occasional interruptions of the streaming even when we make it work. The support team will let you know which activities in ISF intend to be enlarged by streaming and get you in contact with some organizers in advance, especially if you intend to make a short speech that would be heard/watched in Baghdad.
