Workers’ Rights and Freedom of Syndicates During COVID-19

The Iraqi Civil Society Solidarity Initiative (ICSSI) continues its live webinars: this time with a particular focus on Iraqi Kurdistan, in an attempt to connect activists and community members to build solidarity and promote peace as well as human rights across the world. In the face of the political, social, and economic anguish caused by this pandemic, ICSSI in collaboration with Peace and Freedom Organization (PFO), Al-Mesalla Organization and Kurdistan Social Forum is organizing another three live webinars in order to encourage solidarity and collect shared experience.

With the help of our Iraqi Kurdish and International experts, the second webinar will shed light on workers’ rights and freedom of syndicates (trade unions) during COVID-19. Many workers have lost their jobs due to COVID-19 and the work of syndicates/trade unions have altered drastically. Consequently, this webinar examines the impact of COVID-19 on workers’ and syndicates/ trade unions as well as their efforts to advance the workers’ demands and rights. The webinar will be held in both English and Kurdish, however, later a report will be provided in Arabic, Kurdish, and English.
