Iraqi Civil Society Solidarity Initiative

The Iraqi Civil Society Solidarity Initiative (ICSSI) is dedicated to bringing together Iraqi and international civil societies through concrete actions to build together another Iraq, with peace and Human Rights for all.

What is Solidarity in the Time of the Coronavirus Epidemic?

Iraqi Civil Society Solidarity Initiative Webinar

Throughout its existence, the Iraqi Civil Society Solidarity Initiative (ICSSI) has worked to connect the growing Iraqi civil society with international civil society organizations in order to build solidarity and promote peace and human rights across communities. Once again we are faced with a crisis that impacts our lives on a social, political and economic level. Thus, ICSSI in collaboration with Un Ponte Per and the Iraqi Social Forum is organizing a series of live webinars to link both Iraqi civil society and communities with the outside world in these difficult times, in order to encourage solidarity and collect shared experience.

While various communities around the world are isolated from each other due to COVID-19, ICSSI intends to once more foster cross-community communication, this time via online webinars. This is a global pandemic, and only solidarity all around the world will allow us to overcome it. In the first two webinars: Friday the 3rd of April (see the flyer at the top of this post) and the second on Saturday 4th of April (see the flyer at the end of this post), with the help of our guest experts, we will shed light on the spread of coronavirus, containment measures, its impact on workers, businesses and democracies including the Iraqi Protests. These webinars will be held in both English and Arabic languages in order to allow as many people as possible to join us and participate.

ICSSI will have future webinars on coronavirus and its impacts on both the community level and the global level as well. We will inform you in advance as our plans develop.

Also, ICSSI would be delighted to have you contribute to these lively discussions. There are a number of ways you can do that.
