a Workshop on The Principles of Voluntary Work Organized by Mashhoofna Team in Dhi Qar

Mashhoofna team who represents an important and promising part of the experience of the Iraqi Social Forum in Southern Iraq and specifically in Dhi Qar province organized a workshop in partnership with the Iraqi Social Forum (ISF) about the principles of voluntary work, on Friday, 3rd of March in Dhi Qar.

This workshop was part of the preparations of Mashhoofna team to organize more activities and events in Dhi Qar to promote for the principles of the civil society and the values of public rights and freedoms in the city, especially after the successful achievement of the team in organizing I Love Dhi Qar festival that took place last year.

24 Young men and women participated in this workshop; the workshop discussed the concept of volunteerism and public goals to volunteer as well as the rights and duties of the volunteer and any possible obstacles the volunteer could face. The volunteers were divided into number of working groups; each working group formed Masar (a Path) such as water and environment Masar (Path) and arts against violence Masar (Path). The work groups wrote some ideas about voluntary actions within these Masarat (Paths) to be discussed between Mashhoofna team and ISF to implement and to see how it could help the city in the future.
