On Thursday, in the capital city of Erbil, events to compact violence against women were launched with the participation of the Prime Minister of Kurdistan Region Nechirvan Barzani.

The Prime Minister of KRG read his word in the opening of the event, saying that compacting violence against women in the provinces of Kurdistan has been enacted in law.

Nechirvan Barzani added that compacting violence against women was a priority of the Kurdistan Regional Government and we seek to improve the mechanism of application of its laws.

The prime minister pointed out that violence against women decreased in some areas, calling on clerics to exercise a greater role in the elimination of violence.

The Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region also stressed the need to eliminate the organization of Daash and said that: “We must work to uproot Daash marbles.

Kurdistan Regional Government revealed the existence of three thousand Azidi Kurdish women kidnapped by Daash, hundreds of them was liberated, but the fate of the rest still unknown.

These events were held in Erbil on Sunday, on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, where there is a General Directorate for Combating Violence against Women in the Ministry of Interior in the Kurdistan Regional Government, it has 26 offices in the provinces of the KRG.
